GDrive domain transferred to Google
As you know, I like watching Google domain names. Over the last couple days, Google has been the recipient of some interesting domain transfers. Remember
GDrive? It is software
currently being used by Googlers under the codename Platypus — giving them online storage for their files.

Google to start video Ads
Google adwords program will soon to start display video Ads. According to Yahoo
news story, "
...Google Inc. will begin distributing online video ads for the first time later this week, continuing the Internet search engine leader's effort to diversify beyond the static written messages that generate most of its profits...".
According to official
Adwords blog, "
...In the coming days, we will be adding click-to-play video ads to the line-up of text, Flash and image ad formats currently supported by the Google content network. At launch, video ads will be available to AdWords advertisers in the US, Canada and Japan - but we plan to roll them out to other regions shortly...".
I am not sure whether all users will like to see these ads. However Google made it clear that, unlike some intrusive advertising, users will have complete control. When a page loads, only a static image will be visible; the video will not start playing until the user initiates it.

Google AdWords referral program
Google Adsense launches AdWords referral program, I can see new option in my account. This is good news.
Google AdWords enables advertisers to create and display ads on Google.com and the Google content network, which includes Google AdSense publisher sites like yours. Advertisers can choose their target audience, set their budget, and see their ad almost instantly.
When a user signs up for Google AdWords through your referral and spends their first $100.00 in advertising, Google will credit your account with $20.00. According to Google, "
A Google AdWords referral is counted when a publisher, who has never previously enrolled in Google AdWords, creates an account and spends at least $100.00 within 90 days of sign-up." You can see sample on this site just scroll down.
Update: Google
Adsense blog has more info.

Offical Google blog hacked by student
Update: According to Google it was not a hack: "
We've determined the cause of tonight's outage. The blog was mistakenly deleted by us (d'oh!) which allowed the blog address to be temporarily claimed by another user. This was not a hack, and nobody guessed our password. Our bad." ... LOL
I first saw this post on
Digg. According to him he visited the official Google Blog, and received a 404 error. Thinking that this message means "no url or blog here". Then he registered googleblog, and rest is history.
And now Google has fixed this problem. You can see official
google response, and
hacked page (flicker photo).
At the movement, it looks like some sort of bug exists in blogger system.
